JAECOO J7 Becomes Best-Selling Car in the UK, Driving Global Growth as JAECOO Records 61,254 Units in Sales

Global sales of JAECOO reached 61,254 units in March 2026, more than doubling year-on-year, with electrified vehicle sales rising by 471%.

JAKARTA, April 10, 2026 – JAECOO continues to demonstrate rapid global growth, highlighted by the success of the JAECOO J7 becoming the best-selling car in the United Kingdom in March 2026, as well as the top-selling model year-to-date. This achievement proves that JAECOO is capable of competing in the highly competitive global automotive market.

This success is supported by strong consumer demand, with more than 10,000 units of the JAECOO J7 sold in just one month and a total of 15,703 units year-to-date. In fact, its sales were approximately 70% higher than its closest competitor.

OMODA & JAECOO recorded total sales of 61,254 units in March 2026, more than doubling compared to the previous year and marking the highest monthly sales record to date. Of this total, electrified vehicles were the main contributor with 39,716 units, representing a 471% increase, indicating that electrification technology has become a key driver of brand growth across various markets.

Overall, OMODA & JAECOO have recorded more than 960,000 units in global sales and are expected to reach 1 million units in the near future. This achievement places JAECOO among the fastest-growing automotive brands in the world today.

Responding to this achievement, JAECOO Indonesia Business Unit Director, Jim Ma, stated that this global trend is also beginning to emerge in Indonesia. “We are seeing growing interest in electrified vehicles and NEVs, but at the same time, consumers are looking for solutions that remain practical and relevant to their needs. This is where technologies like SHS (Super Hybrid System) are becoming increasingly important, as they offer both efficiency and flexibility in usage,” he said.

He added that this approach is one of the factors driving JAECOO’s acceptance in various markets. “SHS allows users to experience the benefits of electrification without significantly changing their driving habits. This makes the technology increasingly seen as a more realistic step toward fully electric vehicles,” he continued.

In line with this, the SHS technology developed by JAECOO is designed to combine the advantages of electric power and internal combustion engines into a complementary system. Under certain conditions, the vehicle can operate more efficiently using electric power, while still maintaining engine support to ensure performance and driving range, providing a more flexible driving experience without range anxiety.

This capability has been proven through various global tests conducted in more than 16 countries under diverse road and weather conditions. In these tests, the JAECOO J7 was able to travel more than 1,300 kilometers, demonstrating that this technology is reliable across various usage scenarios.

The success in the United Kingdom serves as strong validation of JAECOO’s global strategy, while also showing that a flexible electrification approach is increasingly relevant across different markets. This is also reflected in Indonesia, where the demand for efficient and adaptable vehicles continues to grow.

Currently, JAECOO has 32 operational dealerships in Indonesia, including the latest opening in Kebon Jeruk, West Jakarta, with an additional 25 dealerships to follow across various regions. This network expansion is part of JAECOO’s commitment to getting closer to customers and supporting long-term growth in the national automotive market, with a target of establishing up to 80 outlets across Indonesia by the end of the year.
