Proving that it's hard to be wasteful, Jaecoo J7 will be driven from Jakarta to Bali for one full tank.

Jaecoo J7 SHS (Super Hybrid Sytem) will be driven Jakarta-Bali for one full tank of fuel. This agenda proves that SHS are a solution in environmentally friendly vehicles because of their efficiency.

February 11, 2025

Jakarta - Jaecoo J7 SHS (Super Hybrid System) will be traveling Jakarta-Bali for a single refueling. This agenda is proof that SHS are a solution in environmentally friendly vehicles because of their efficiency. Jaeeco, a brand under Chery will enter Indonesia as of February 2025. The product that will be introduced for the first time is an offroad SUV that is fuel efficient, but still carries high technology, the J7 SHS. The car can use hybrid mode or Battery Electric Vehicles (BEV).

This is not the first time the Jaecoo J7 has undertaken a long-distance travel agenda. In October 2024, the Jaecoo J7 SHS recorded a feat by traveling 1,353 kilometers on just one tank of fuel. The challenge involved the participation of seven countries-Italy, Malaysia, Mexico, Saudi Arabia, Spain, Turkey, and the United Kingdom-which culminated in a trip from Guangzhou to Wuhu, China.

“The Jaecoo J7 SHS not only excels in fuel efficiency, but also provides a great driving experience, thanks to JAECOO's Super Hybrid System (SHS). This advanced system, which combines Super HEV and EV technologies, ensures optimal fuel consumption even in HEV mode.

In addition, the system provides smooth and responsive acceleration, both in electric and hybrid modes, to meet the diverse needs of modern drivers,” said Max Zhou, Director of JAECOO Indonesia in a statement.  During the global challenge, the Jaecoo J7 SHS demonstrated fuel efficiency by recording an average fuel consumption of only 3.3 liters per 100 kilometers. In addition, in EV mode, it managed to achieve a pure electric mileage of 125.2 kilometers.

Jaecoo is now preparing for a similar challenge in Indonesia that will take place in 2025. The J7 SHS will take part in the 1,200-kilometer Super Hybrid Long Range Endurance Test from Jakarta to Bali.

“This Jakarta-Bali challenge is an opportunity to bring our global achievements to Indonesia,” said Max Zhou.

“It's about showing Indonesian drivers the future of sustainable mobility, where efficiency meets driving pleasure,” he added.

The Jaecoo J7 SHS carries a 1.5 TGDi gasoline engine and a dedicated hybrid transmission (DHT) with a front axle e-motor powered by an 18.3 kW battery. The total power output is 347 PS and 525 Nm of torque.  Evan Angganantika, Jaecoo's Head of Marketing, said the car's debut will take place at the 2025 Indonesia International Motor Show (IIMS) in February.

The price of the car will be below that of the Honda CR-V.  She continued that the Jaecoo 7 SHS will have a competitive price tag. It can be said that currently in its class there is no technology that adopts SHS. Meanwhile, the closest is the Honda CR-V which adopts a hybrid system. The highest version is sold for Rp 814.4 million.
