March 09, 2026

Jakarta, 8th March 2026 – JAECOO Indonesia held an event titled “A Milestone of Trust” as a gathering and appreciation event for JAECOO vehicle owners in Indonesia, including owners of the J5 EV, J7 SHS-P, and J8 SHS-P ARDIS. The event served as a moment of connection between the brand and its owner community, while also providing an opportunity for JAECOO to share the latest developments regarding its products and the ownership ecosystem in Indonesia.

This moment of togetherness also reflects several important milestones achieved by JAECOO during its first year in Indonesia. Since making its debut at the Indonesia International Motor Show (IIMS) 2025, JAECOO has gradually introduced its SUV lineup to the Indonesian market, including the J7 SHS-P and J8 SHS-P ARDIS, both equipped with the Super Hybrid System (SHS) technology.

In addition, JAECOO has recorded several notable achievements, including a MURI record for the J8 SHS-P ARDIS as the Plug-in Hybrid vehicle with the longest driving range in Indonesia, reaching 1,660 kilometers on a single full charge and fuel tank.

Beyond its hybrid lineup, JAECOO has also received strong market enthusiasm for its first BEV model, the J5 EV, which secured more than 10,000 vehicle orders (SPK) in less than two months following the announcement of its official price in November last year.

Amid this strong demand, during the “A Milestone of Trust” event, JAECOO also held a symbolic handover ceremony for several J5 EV units to customers, marking a distribution milestone of more than 7,000 units delivered in Indonesia.

Jim Ma, Business Unit Director of JAECOO Indonesia, stated that the strong enthusiasm from customers toward the J5 EV has encouraged JAECOO to accelerate the vehicle distribution process. “This acceleration reflects JAECOO’s commitment to ensure that customers can soon drive their vehicles for daily mobility as well as intercity travel. Our current focus is to ensure that every unit reaches customers as quickly as possible, with a target of delivering 10,000 units before the Eid al-Fitr holiday in 2026,” said Jim Ma.

This strong consumer trust is reflected in the J5 EV’s strong market performance. Based on GAIKINDO retail data, the J5 EV became the No.1 best-selling EV SUV in January 2026 with 1,942 units sold, and maintained the top position in February with 2,926 units sold. This positive achievement was further strengthened by the “The Most Affordable Compact SUV” award received at the Indonesia International Motor Show (IIMS) 2026.

JAECOO Gathers Customer Insights for the Development of J5 EV Design
To deliver the best products and services, JAECOO also shared the latest update on its J5 EV Co-Creation program, which was first introduced at IIMS 2026. Through this initiative, JAECOO invited customers to participate in shaping the design direction and features of the J5 EV through an interactive survey conducted during the exhibition.

During the program, several participants suggested that adding elements such as a body kit could enhance the J5 EV’s appearance, making it look more sporty, premium, and adventurous. For JAECOO, this feedback provides valuable insights from customers who are directly involved in exploring the vehicle’s design development.

“We would like to thank all customers and visitors who participated in this program. JAECOO is committed to staying close to our customers and listening to their aspirations. Through the Co-Creation program, we open a dialogue to better understand design preferences from Indonesian consumers. These insights will become an important reference for us in developing future JAECOO models that are increasingly relevant to the lifestyle of customers in Indonesia,” concluded Jim Ma.

As JAECOO’s first BEV in Indonesia, the J5 EV is equipped with a 155 kW (210 PS) electric motor and a 60.9 kWh battery, offering a driving range of up to 461 km (NEDC), along with support for 130 kW DC fast charging. Its safety is reinforced by a high-strength steel structure, 17 ADAS features, six airbags, and a 540° camera system. Meanwhile, comfort and practicality are supported by a 13.2-inch display, smart connectivity, and a luggage capacity of up to 1,180 liters.

In addition to the J5 EV, JAECOO has previously introduced other premium SUV models through the J7 SHS-P and J8 SHS-P ARDIS, both powered by the Super Hybrid System (SHS). This technology combines a 1.5 TGDI gasoline engine with an electric motor and a Dedicated Hybrid Transmission (DHT), allowing the vehicle to operate in multiple modes, including full electric, hybrid, and energy regeneration during braking. The SHS approach is positioned as a solution for long-distance travel, delivering efficiency while providing peace of mind for drivers without concerns about power limitations.

Alongside the expansion of its electrified product lineup, JAECOO currently operates 25 dealerships in Indonesia and aims to reach 80 dealers by the end of 2026, with the latest opening in Kebon Jeruk, West Jakarta. During the Lebaran period, JAECOO is also preparing 14 dealerships across various cities, supported by 24-hour emergency assistance services covering towing, fuel supply, and home service to ensure customer convenience throughout their journeys. In addition, JAECOO is offering a Free Spooring program until March 31, 2026, available at 28 dealer locations across Sumatra, Java, Kalimantan, Bali, Sulawesi, and the Greater Jakarta area, helping ensure vehicles remain in optimal condition for Lebaran homecoming travel.
